This moderately active trip covers a good amount of ground each day. The pace is moderate; however, you will encounter some uneven surfaces, stairs, steps, and steep inclines. When visiting Machu Picchu, please note that walking sticks are not allowed in some areas of the archaeological site and must be carried in a backpack. A medical prescription is required for walking sticks to be allowed at the Machu Picchu archaeological site, and they must have rubber tips. Selfie sticks are also prohibited. The elevation of 11,000 feet in Cusco may be a consideration for those with heart issues or altitude sensitivity. We suggest consulting with your doctor before signing up for this tour. Some hotels in Urubamba, Aguas Calientes, Cusco, and Puno are built in the traditional local style and do not have air conditioning. During heatwaves, these hotels can become uncomfortable, even at higher elevations. This is a classic program.
