    DETAILED ITINERARY

    Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Maras – Moray – Salt Mines – Cusco.

We will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a bus journey through potato, corn and quinoa fields until you reach the village of Chinchero, where you will appreciate a demonstration of the handcrafted textiles made by the women of the area. They are very skilled in this art of weaving and what impresses the most is that they still use natural elements obtained from nature to dye alpaca fiber, a technique they inherited from their ancestors. Then, you will board our transportation that will take you to the archaeological site of Moray, the largest Agricultural Experimentation Center in the Inca territory. After the guided tour, you will board our transportation again to be taken to the Maras Salt Mines. The place has produced salt since pre-Inca times and the Incas were able to conquer and take advantage of the salt mines to exploit and obtain the mineral that served them to barter or exchange products from different areas. After the guided tour, you will board the transportation that will take you back to your hotel in the city of Cusco.

What do I need to know?

We recommend that you arrive in the city of Cusco at least one day before the tour to adapt to the altitude and avoid possible altitude sickness during the Maras Moray Salineras with Chinchero tour. This tour is available all year round, and you can do it in any month (rainy season from December to March).

    Briefing:

Briefings are held the night before the tour begins and last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. In case you are unable to attend, please contact us by email to arrange another date or time to meet with the guide.

Note: You will need a backpack to carry your personal items such as sunscreen, water, and sunglasses.

    Payment:

If you have made a reservation and given a 50% advance payment, please make the remaining payment after the briefing with the guide the night before the Sacred Valley with Machu Picchu tour.

    Strikes/Demonstrations:

Unfortunately, strikes are frequent in Peru and may disrupt our tours. Roads may be blocked, and trains may stop. We will make sure that your trek continues as planned, even if that means leaving the night before the start date. In these circumstances, tours may need to be canceled, but our operations department will coordinate with you. Your safety is always our primary concern.

    Lost and Found:

Each client is responsible for their own belongings during the tour. Be careful where you leave your items and remember to pick up all your belongings at our mobilities, stores, restaurants, etc. It is possible that other hikers or teams may pick them up without knowing who the owner is.
